Georgetown University Medical Center

under the direction of Josef P. Rauschecker, Ph.D., D.Sc

Invites you to participate in research studies on
the superior abilities of the blind brain!

Music and rhythm, localizing sounds in space… these are some of the specially enhanced abilities that can accompany early blindness. We at the Laboratory of Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition are in partnership with the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, to understand how the brain gets rewired in blindness, the superior perceptual and cognitive abilities that characterize the blind brain, and to help promote the wellbeing and societal support of blind individuals and communities.

We welcome you to join our team as a participant in one of the exciting studies currently underway. Join us on our journey to discover some of the superior abilities in blindness, and to enhance our understanding of the brain.

We look forward to working with you.

Josef P. Rauschecker, Ph.D., D.Sc.
