Ted Turesky graduated from Colorado College in 2008 with a B.A. in physics and a focus in pre-med. Upon graduation, Ted travelled to Malawi, Africa on a fellowship to investigate the health care system of the country. When Ted returned to the United States, he moved back to Maine, his home state, and soon thereafter became a high school math and chemistry teacher.
With a growing interest in neuroscience, particularly systems neuroscience, Ted joined the Laboratory of Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition in 2010 to work on the tinnitus project. And in collaboration with the American Tinnitus Association, Ted founded and now leads a support group for people afflicted by tinnitus living in Washington, DC.
